Free online image tools — compress, resize, and remove backgrounds in your browser

Edit one image at a time: shrink the file size, resize with fit, crop, or stretch, remove the background, and export ready for YouTube or Instagram — nothing is uploaded, so your images stay on your device.

What you can do

Compression

Pick the output quality for JPEG and WebP and see the estimated file size before you export. Your source file is never modified.

Exact resizing

Enter a custom width and height in pixels, or start from a preset canvas for YouTube and Instagram.

Fit, crop, or stretch

Preserve the whole image, fill the canvas with a crop you can move and resize, or stretch to exact dimensions.

Background removal

Make light backgrounds transparent in one click — works best on product photos and portraits — with transparency previewed on a checkerboard.

How it works

  1. Choose an image

Browse or drag and drop a JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, or BMP file from your device.

  2. Adjust your settings

Compression quality, exact dimensions, fit/crop/stretch framing, and optional background removal.

  3. Preview & download

Check the final dimensions, format, and estimated file size, then download. The original file is never overwritten.

Frequently asked questions

Is Image Tools free?

Yes. Every feature — compression, resizing, background removal, and the YouTube and Instagram presets — is free and needs no account.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Compression, resizing, cropping, and background removal all run locally in your browser, so your image never leaves your device and your original file is never modified.

What sizes can I export for YouTube and Instagram?

YouTube video thumbnails export at 1280 × 720 px (16:9). Instagram presets cover feed square 1080 × 1080, feed portrait 1080 × 1350, feed landscape 1080 × 566, and story/reel cover 1080 × 1920. You can also set any custom width and height.

Will resizing distort my image?

Stretch mode fills exact dimensions without preserving the aspect ratio, so it can distort your image. Fit preserves the entire image inside the canvas, and Crop fills the canvas while keeping the aspect ratio — you can move and resize the crop selection before exporting.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Image Tools runs in modern desktop and mobile browsers and can be used entirely with a keyboard.
